Our latest release on 14 June 2023 included the following changes.

New features

For those agencies with services created using the FormBuilder.govt tool, you can now download a pdf that combines the application content with any files the customer uploaded as part of their submission. This is available in the admin portal.

Your customers will now be using the NZ Post lookup as standard in FormBuilder.govt forms rather than the Google address validation.

Your customers will now have a new experience when registering for the platform. They’ll be asked to enter just their email address so the system can check if they already have an account and make sure they don’t create another one. If they don’t already have an account, they’ll need to verify their email address before proceeding.

New feature - Business Connect registration

One of the benefits of this new feature is that we can help customers get an overview of all their transactions with government and not inadvertently create multiple accounts with one transaction in each.

You can now access a report in the admin portal to show upcoming alcohol licence and food business registration renewals along with the dates of the three reminders that business will receive.

Your customers accessing services from their mobile devices will benefit from important improvements to accessibility including more responsive pages and menus and better re-sizing of fonts and navigational elements like the tiles on the dashboard.

New services

Your customers can now register a trade mark with the Intellectual Property Office of New Zealand using Business Connect.

A prototype has been created to make it more straight-forward for those businesses who need to apply for insolvency.

A prototype has been created to better guide those businesses needing to report a product recall to Consumer Protection.


Customers using the Secure Export Scheme service on Business Connect will see improvements to the layout and spacing of questions and content in the application form.

Users who may have found they couldn’t submit their application without refreshing the screen first will not encounter this again.
